I was reading an article on the BBC News website earlier, about how Internet addresses (i.e. the IP address behind the URL) are estimated to run out in 2010/2011 if we carry on using IPv4.
It then goes on to state that we need to use IPv6 (an obvious really, with support now built into Vista as well). And apparently…IPv6 has been ready to roll out for the past 10 years…so why hasn’t it been rolled out?!?!?! That’s what I want to know.
It makes no sense to me. And for those who’ve just read that and have no idea what it means, I can’t remember either, but basically IPv6 allows us to have more websites.

Ok so nobody I know has died, let me just get that out of the way and make it perfectly clear
My Xbox 360 got the Red Ring Of Death just now, I am sad, it’s outlasted a lot of people’s consoles that I know. I got it in August 2006, and today 28 October 2007, it has died.
So I filled in a form thingy to get it fixed on the Microsoft website, which I’m guessing means it’ll take about 3-6 weeks to get sorted (so it should work for Christmas!!).
Anyway that’s all, thought I’d make a big deal out of it, because now I have nothing to distract me as much.

I saw Black and White 2 sitting in my room earlier, and check the back, because I’ve not played it in ages. I noticed the system requirements, and the fact the, except for not having a dedicated graphics card, my laptop was far above them.
So I decided to install it, thinking that if it doesn’t work I can always just uninstall it, no big deal.
It worked! It runs really smoothly as well, quicker than it ever did on my desktop PC. Although the graphics options are turned down to low. Other than that, all is good, so I’m just installing The Sims 2 (I installed Theme Park World as well, which is a great game, I love it). Also installed C&C Generals + Zero Hour, which ran on full graphics lol, but I removed them, because I won’t play it.

I noticed Google were slowly rolling out IMAP support for the Gmail accounts, and that I got mine today (may have been earlier in fairness…I only checked about 15 minutes ago).
Although I’m not going to use it yet, based on 1 thing:
I use POP3 from Outlook 2007, and I’ve created a rule which deletes emails that I’ve sent to people, so that way, I only have the emails I actually want to read in my inbox.
Problem is that if I use IMAP, those emails will be deleted from my Gmail account as well, which I don’t want them to be, so that’s just no good!
Unless there becomes some sort of option to turn this off, or a workaround, or I just give up caring, then I won’t be using IMAP just yet.

Ok so I downloaded and installed Steam earlier. I figured I’d have some old school Counter-Strike & Half Life on here to play when I get a bit bored etc.
All was well, I downloaded the updates, changed the settings etc. and searched for some servers, but every time I tried to connect, I kept getting disconnected from the Net, and I don’t mean just my Wireless being turned off, the router itself just gave up and died on me, I had to reset it 3 times before I figured it was Steam & I gave up.
So it looks like no classic online action for me until Steam has sorted some serious issue it has with either a BT Home Hub, or just routers in general, I’m curious to know if any other people have this problem.

Ok so I went into town earlier because I had a 2 hour break at Uni, and I had a look in Game, as you do.
I ended up walking out with Viva Piñata, and it does look quite good, and I enjoyed the demo, I’ll admit that. Plus it was only £13 so that’s why I bought it, I’ll probably do another post letting you all know what I think when I’ve played it some more.

Posting this means I can use a tag I’ve created more than once!!!
Anyway, I’m just uploading a few changes to my website (find it here) I know there’s nothing on the Homepage yet, but if you check the About, Why & Why Not pages they do have something on them, I’ve updated the style mainly.
Doing this did allow me to see the versatility of CSS and how easy it is to change the layout of a whole website with about 8 extra lines of CSS code.

I watched this on ITV2 earlier, quite shocked at the amount of swearing that was going on, until I realised that I’d be exactly the same, lol, so I can’t really blame them for that.
I don’t really believe in that kind of thing anyway, but it’s still fun to watch, and if somebody can give me conclusive proof that ghost etc. DO exist, then I’ll more than happily believe it on that basis.

I was at Uni (well I still am actually) and I did a broadband speed test. You’ll find the result below, I was surprised & envious at the same time.
I want broadband that fast!!!

Now I’ll admit that I use MySpace, and that I also use Facebook, and for the main part, it’s just been to follow the crowd, and a way to keep in contact with people that don’t use Windows Live Messenger etc.
However earlier, I had a pleasant surprise, somebody I’ve not spoken to for at least 2 years added me as a friend on Facebook, which was a nice surprise.
So these social networking sites do have some benefits, but you just have to use them carefully.
